The Medical Advisory Board consists of experts in the field who are also current users of the Maximyo 10.

Brian Glenville, BSc MS FRCS - Chairman

Prof. Glenville has chaired the Board since the inception of the Maximyo 10. He is a surgeon with an interest in muscle and its development. He has conducted research and clinical studies in the field over many years. Brian evaluates and moderates studies using the Maximyo 10, and is currently medical director or advisor to several other medical companies.

Gerarda van Oosterbosch

A registered nurse in Holland and CEO of Bodycontrol, a Dutch company that deals with all aspects of EMS for the cosmetic industry, Gerarda has been skilled in the use of EMS for many years. She established a major training centre for new and advanced users of EMS and will be responsible for supervising training on the Maximyo 10. Stemming from her nursing background, she started to treat clients with a forerunner of the Maximyo 10 with sports injuries and other musculo-skeletal conditions. She found great success with the device, but expressed her wishes for an even more powerful and flexible machine to the late Gerry Pollock. After some years of development and regulation, the Maximyo 10 was born.

Stephen Sacks, DO

Stephen is an osteopath with a special interest in musculo-skeletal rehabilitation and expertise in shoulder rehabilitation. In his three clinics in London, he uses various methods of rehabilitation with the Maximyo 10 in pride of place. He has effectively used the Maximyo 10 in strengthening the multifidus musculature for back pain strengthening, quadriceps strengthening post knee operations and in knee osteoarthritis, rotator cuff strengthening in Frozen shoulder and torn muscles. Stephen continues to research the use of Maximyo 10 in back and joint rehabilitation.

Erica Smiter, Dip COT

Erica is qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1980 and worked in the NHS until 2007. She has been a clinician, clinical manager, general operational manager, commissioner, kings fund assessor and project lead for innovation and service redesign. At present she is an independent consultant with PCTs and providers as well as the information standards board for health and social care. She is also Chair of a community interest company that works with people suffering from long-term conditions, to reintegrate them back with their communities and the work place. Erica has worked with MaxiMyo Ltd since its inception and was key to the development of its use for female urinary incontinence. She is also skilled in the use of the Maximyo 10 for sports injuries especially around the shoulder region.
